Fundraising

Following the post-election violence, Oshwal Education & Relief Board donated 10,000 'Dignity Kits' to UNICEF – for distribution to displaced women and girls.

Each Dignity Kit contained a Lasso, Tooth Brush, Tooth Paste, Sanitary Towels, Afro Comb and Soap which approximated to KSh115.25 each, hence totalling KSh.1,152,500.00. Shree Oshwal Mahila Mandal Nairobi and other lady volunteers had assisted with the packing of items into each kit.

 

 

 

 

 

 


Oshwal
Academy Nairobi – Primary Campus students collected Clothes, Toys, Games, Food Items etc for donation whilst Maize Flour, Rice, Sugar, Blankets were amongst other necessities purchased. Items totalling approximately KSh. 2,000,000.00 were donated to the Red Cross for distribution.

 

 

 

 

 

 


UNICEF and Red Cross officials were invited for the official handover ceremony of the 'Dignity Kits' and other donations collected on 6th February 2008.

On 3rd February 2008, Oshwal Education & Relief Board and the Asian Foundation jointly held a Medical Camp in Kibera on which a further KSh. 251,636.00 was spent.

Goods worth KSh. 200,000.00 were also donated to the Jamii Bora Trust on 26th April 2008.

Additionally, Parklands Primary School was provided 48 desks and chairs for use by internally displaced children who resided at the school.
